Not at all. Most people aren't professional models and don't naturally know what to do in front of a camera. We'll guide you through posing, posture and expression throughout the session, while keeping things relaxed and natural.

Choose something that makes you feel comfortable and confident. Simple, well-fitting clothing and neutral or solid colours usually photograph beautifully. Depending on your package, you may also bring additional outfits so we can create a variety of looks.

We'll start with a quick chat about what you'd like to achieve and the style of images you're after. From there, we'll choose the appropriate lighting and background and guide you throughout the shoot. There's no pressure to know how to pose—that's part of our job.

Of course. You're welcome to bring someone along if it helps you feel more comfortable. For family or group sessions, we'll discuss the number of people beforehand so we can prepare the studio accordingly.

Absolutely. If you fall in love with more images than your package includes, additional professionally edited photographs can be purchased separately. There's no need to decide before your photoshoot.

Our approach is to keep you looking like you. We correct colour and lighting and apply natural, professional retouching where needed. We don't believe in turning people into someone they don't recognise.

Yes. Our Portrait Session is designed to be flexible and works beautifully for individual portraits, modelling portfolios, couples, families, actors and creatives. If you're unsure which package suits you best, just get in touch and we'll help you choose.

Yes. We can create consistent professional headshots for businesses and teams, either at Studio D.Y. or, depending on the project, at your workplace. Contact us with your team size and requirements and we'll recommend the best approach.
